For work that depends on one collection, or on collections nobody has charted yet. Each engagement is scoped with you and quoted in writing before work begins; most begin with a briefing.
For any team deciding whether a terrain fits its work.
A guided reading of a live terrain with the people who build CAINC, followed by a conversation about the collections your work depends on.
No fee. Most engagements begin here.
Request a briefingFor practices and institutions that return to the same records again and again.
A terrain of a collection you name — a regulator, a court, an agency’s releases, a licensed feed or your own matter files — scoped around your access requirements and update needs.
Quoted after a briefing, from the size of the collection and how current it must stay. Reduced rates for education, research and non-profit work.
Discuss a collectionFor one question that matters now: a matter, an inquiry, a decision.
A scoped engagement that starts from a terrain and follows a single question as far as the evidence goes, working directly with you throughout.
A fixed scope and fee, agreed in writing before work begins.
Scope a deep diveTwo ways to work with us on different terms: shaping CAINC as a partner, or using it for teaching, research and the public good.
For practices and institutions that want a hand in what CAINC charts next.
A small number of partners work alongside us on the terrains and tools their field needs first. Partners see new terrains and features early, and their questions shape what we build.
Most partnerships are paid, at partner rates. When a partnership charts a Public Terrain that serves a wider audience, we may waive the fee and work in kind: your expertise and candid feedback for our engineering.
Ask about partneringFor educators, students, researchers, libraries, non-profits and public-interest journalism.
Work that serves a public good should not wait for a services budget. We offer reduced terms to people and organisations whose use of a terrain gives something back: a course, a published study, an open report.
Reduced or waived fees, agreed case by case. We ask for a short account of the intended use, and permission to mention the work once it is public.
Tell us about your projectScoped before it starts. Every engagement has a written scope and fee before work begins, and changes to either are agreed the same way.
Your records stay yours. Access controls, processing, retention and delivery are agreed before private records are accepted. Nothing built from your sources is published without your agreement.
Public by agreement. A terrain charted with a partner joins the public atlas only when both sides choose to publish it, with credit if you want it.
