Who we are
SemanticGaps operates these services. Contact [email protected] with privacy questions or requests.
Information we process and why
- Account information: sign-in identifiers, email, profile information and account membership, to authenticate users and administer access. Clerk provides authentication.
- Account activity and content: saved scopes, research-session notes, API key records, usage/credit records and watch settings, to provide requested features, enforce limits and troubleshoot problems. Avoid including sensitive personal information in research notes or support messages unless necessary.
- Billing information: Stripe customer/subscription identifiers, billing status and related records, to provide paid access and handle billing. Payment details are entered into Stripe-hosted payment interfaces. CAINC does not ask you to submit full card numbers or card security codes to its own application.
- Technical information: requests, IP addresses, browser/device information, timestamps and diagnostic/security logs, to deliver, protect and maintain the service. The exact fields and retention periods depend on the component.
- Communications: information you provide when contacting us, to respond and maintain a record of support and billing requests.
- Source documents: public-source corpora may contain names and other personal information about people who are not CAINC users. We process those sources and their metadata to make them searchable and build terrains. Public availability does not mean source material is free of privacy or licensing obligations.
Google Analytics, cookies and local storage
We use Google Analytics to understand visits and interactions and improve the website and CAINC. Analytics can process browser/device information, page and interaction information, identifiers and approximate location information. Google may process information in countries other than yours. See Google's explanation: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Optional Google Analytics runs only after you choose to allow analytics. You may reject optional analytics without losing core service access and change your choice through Cookie settings. Necessary authentication/security storage and local interface preferences are explained separately. Withdrawing consent stops future optional collection; it does not automatically erase information already collected.
Service providers and disclosures
Providers used for these services include Cloudflare for site delivery and network services, Hetzner for the CAINC backend in Germany, Clerk for authentication, Stripe for billing, Google for analytics, and Backblaze for published terrain files. Temporary RunPod workers can process corpus text for embeddings; terrain labeling uses model processing.
We disclose information as needed for these providers to perform their services, to comply with valid legal obligations, to protect rights/security, or in a business transfer with applicable safeguards. Providers may have their own privacy notices and legal responsibilities. We do not promise that all data stays in one country or that every provider acts only as a processor.
Retention and security
We retain information for the purposes described above, including providing the service, keeping required billing records, resolving disputes and protecting against abuse. Retention differs for account content, operational logs, provider records and backups.
We use access controls and other safeguards appropriate to our systems. No online service or transfer is guaranteed completely secure. API keys and account access should be protected by their holders.
Your choices and requests
You can manage available account and billing settings in CAINC. Contact [email protected] to request access, correction or deletion of personal information, or to raise a concern about a public source record. Depending on your location, you may also have rights to portability, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent, opt-out or appeal, and to complain to a regulator. We may verify identity before fulfilling a request and explain applicable exceptions. Deleting an account does not necessarily remove third-party source publications, records legally retained by payment providers, or material others independently downloaded from a public terrain.
Children and changes
CAINC is intended for adults, not children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information through an account. We will investigate and take appropriate action. We will date policy updates and give additional notice of material changes where required. New uses requiring consent will not be authorized merely by rewriting this policy.
